About BibleScribes.info
Handwriting the Bible is a daunting task, but not impossible. Before the Gutenberg Bible was published (about 1455), every book was copied by hand. The only skills that are needed to write the Bible are reading and writing, although patience and persistence are valuable, too!
Writing the Bible is much slower than reading it. There is more time for reflection on the Word of God. For most people, the project will likely take several years, but it is time well-spent.
BibleScribes.info provides resources to help people who are interested in handwriting the Bible. The most important resource is encouragement from other people who have already started the project. Some people have even written the Bible more than once!
Paul Gibson
Deuteronomy 17:18–20 (NLT): When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests. He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees. This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.
